Anita (our heroine) is an animator - she raises zombies for a living. She is also attached to a special police investigation team because of her unusually strong talents. Like any good character, Anita has grown throughout her books. She began with an "us or them" attitude about humans and "monsters". She has since seen that line blurred so much she sometimes wonders which category she even falls in.
